Competition rules represent a significant risk exposure for companies, but also business opportunities, a fact that is often overlooked.
Our reputable EU and Competition law team addresses clients’ specific needs by first identifying the actual and theoretical problems and opportunities. Our clients demand and should expect our complete availability, highest quality, sustainable, cost-effective and innovative advice. We always strive to find the most practically viable and commercial solution to the potential competition issues – or opportunities – that we identify.
Cederquist has a genuine and significant interest in this area of law and in how it affects our clients’ businesses – be it adversely or favourably. We maintain a proactive attitude to developing our clients’ business both in relation to EU law and Swedish and international competition law. We work with all types of competition law issues, including review of contracts regarding partnerships, advice on vertical restraints, merger control, abuse of dominance, cartel investigations and leniency applications, sectoral investigations, litigation, compliance programs and training courses. EU law is significant not only in relation to competition law, but in several different legal areas. We assist clients with our experience and by searching for new opportunities.
We represent companies in all types of competition law litigation – not only litigation against the Swedish Competition Authority – in close cooperation with our Dispute Resolution team.
We provide efficient project management and have good relationships with international law firms in jurisdictions outside Sweden and the EU. We also have strong links with highly qualified competition economists whom we consult and cooperate with as required.
We are regularly top-ranked in the international leading market publications Chambers Europe, Legal500 and Global Competition Review.
During the spring, Cederquist’s EU and Competition Law team was selected, as national experts, to contribute with a chapter on the Swedish regulatory framework regarding dominance in Sweden, for the international legal publication Getting the Deal Through and also to the Swedish chapter on Merger Control for the international legal publication Chambers Practice Guide. They were also selected to write the Swedish chapter for the publication The Private Competition Enforcement Review,The Law Reviews.
